As a company that fits all three of the following criteria:

    1. Good utilization, good paychecks ($1100+ gross per week)

    2. Doesn't make you do anything illegal to get those paychecks.

    3. Takes care of their equipment, including lights and tires. (barely legal tires on snowy mountain passes is a bad combination)

I've been in the biz for ten years now and haven't found it. It's either ###### paycheck transport or ###### maintenance transport (skimping on tires and the like).

At Lessors I usually get over $1000 a week, new trucks, new trailers and on e-logs. Our Maintenance score on CSA is 10%. APU and inverter on every truck.

There's a ton of them. I have far stricter criteria than that though. The key to success in this business when your seeking employment is a tight screening program. Since i quit my job 3 weeks ago over 6 companies have offered me a position and asked me when i could start with them. I turned every single one down as they did not meet my Criteria in one way or another.

These are the MINIMUM questions i ask any potential employer usually prefaced and followed by intensive research.

    Employer Questionnaire-
    *Company name and DOT #-

•How are the loads dispatched?(cell, qualcomm, preplanned) (dispatching and load planning)

    *E-logs or Paper logs

    *dispatch Availability?

    *Mandatory Fuel and Routing Solutions?

*Where is the Majority of your Freight?

    •Compensation...%,Mileage,Hourly or Salary?

    CPM Pay-
    Pre/post trip/fuel-
    Layover-
    Stop-
    Loading/unloading-
    Shorthaul-
    Tarp-
    Border Crossing-
    Detention-
    OD-

    When does Detention pay start?

    Bonuses offered-
What % of drivers achieve bonuses on a monthly/yearly basis-

    Clothing allowance?

*AVG weekly gross pay for the Company (my minimum is 1000)

    *AVG Haul Length?

*% of freight requiring tarps winter/summer?

•Payed using HHG, Practical Miles, Actual Miles or Hub Miles?

*empty and loaded miles paid equally?

•Frequency and Length of home time?

    •What type of equipment (apu?,Idle restrictions?,Motor?,Transmission?Governor Speed?)
    APU-
    Idle Restrictions-
    Motor/Transmission-
    Truck Type/year/miles-
    Governor Speed-
    In Cab Cameras-

•Retirement and benefits plans available (dental, vision, health,Paid Vacation)

    •Insurance costs (Single)

Driving jobs are a dime a dozen. If they have Red Flags popping out after just that short list of questions chances are they're hiding much worse things that you're likely to learn the hard way if you don't heed those red flags.

Melton truck lines would meet that, with 10 years, if you got at least 5 of those OTR, you'd start at .43-.45 CPM , not hard to get 2500 in a week

I met all three of those requirements after my first six months of experience with a dedicated JB Hunt route.

But I got to admit it is a lot of work, both driving and physical.

Van Wyk out of Sheldon, IA. Yes to all 3 things that OP asked including profit sharing and 6 month bonus checks.

Top notch equipment except for some emission gremlins in those newer rigs
