It works on open-souce data and coding which has pros and cons. I use OpenOffice on some of my machines, it's free, but it's not robust and capable as Microsoft Office

    copilot discontinued support for pc's.

buy yourself a bluetooth dongle. for laptop. they're cheap on amazon. any mapping program on a laptop will work with it.
install symarctic extgps on your phone. your phone will act as a gps transmitter to your laptop. provided you have android, i'm sure iphone will have something also.

i tried the navigator. didn't get farther then testing the waters though. copilot just keeps pulling me back.

Hey Snowwy, what's it like to be so darn smart? I wondered how you connect your phone's gps, you'd mentioned this before. Pretty ingenious! Thanks for divulging the technique!

I know this is not dealing with windows but can you get a external transmitter for a RM mine has to stay in the window above my head or it loses signal when on windshield but has never lost it up top.

Not sure, but I think those external gps antennae are USB, so your device would need a USB port, or perhaps a mini USB step-down adapter could be used if your device is so equipped. Snowwy probably knows! Hey, Snowwy?
Lol! I've read in another thread that the external gps antenna can also be kinda fickle, requiring placement outside the cab for best reception. Dieselboss is another good source for info on this.

Btw, tsavory, love the QR code avatar, but having a heck of a time scanning it when my QR code scanner is on my phone and your avatar is on my screen!
What does it say? Or where does it direct to when scanned?

Look on the back of the unit. If you see a little gold RF connector at the top (middle) then yes you can use the external GPS antenna. PM me for who has one.

They are magnetic mounted. Does not need to be outside the Cab.

    For what model?

    520 or 720, yes. 530 or 730, no.
