If you live in Jax there's quite a few options. Jax local on what they call the "FEC" account, there's a 250 turn I think they call it where you stay within 250 miles of Jax, you can run southeast regional with weekends off, or you can do OTR. Jax local accounts are going to be older trucks, I'm in the dump division and drive a 96 International, all of us in the dumps have the older trucks.

Orientation will be a full week, pretty boring. I'm not real versed on the flatbed side, but as a company they're not too bad. A lot of the gripes I hear is because of the equipment, mine is maintained and makes money every day though, nothing to look at but I'm not here to turn heads.

Ok I want to do the regional run. How old are those trucks? I saw some newer prostars on their facebook.

It's really luck of the draw and what's available at the time. I've seen guys straight out of orientation get in the new prostars or the new Pete's, but most seem to get the 9400's. There's such a mix of trucks available at any given time it's hard to tell what you'll get. We still have a lot of FLD's, and older 379's as well.

No, their Florida terminals are Tampa and Jacksonville.

I don't pull a flatbed, they have a small dump division(about 30 or so of us pull dump trailers) hauling gypsum for USG in Jacksonville. I can't complain too much, the paychecks are there every Friday, and it's a 5 day work week. After 12 years being in a truck it's not too bad of a job. I won't comment on the flatbed side though, not because there's anything negative, simply because I really don't know the ins and outs of it. I do know they get you home every weekend if that's something you're looking for.
