That's why knight doesn't get in no hurry to get those mts released...longer the hold more the $$$ while they have their drivers running around looking for mts.

This is a very competitive business. They have major contracts with these customers. If you don't show flexibility with a customer, they will get a carrier that will. Unfortunately it seems the operators tend to pay some of the price.

Good! I finished my one year lease and bought my own truck and am continuing to pull trailers for SNI with my "new" truck. If you lease through Schneider Finance (SFI), usually you will have a balloon payment that varies in size depending on the value of your truck and the length of your lease term. There is a time when you won't have a balloon payment and that is if you bring the value of your truck down low enough to where you can have it paid off at the end of the lease term. That was an option for me should I have decided to keep that truck I was leasing - renew the lease for 2 years, put $10k down, and the truck was valued at $54k (minus the 10k down), and there would have been no balloon on that one.

Hey dfo, thx for all the great help. At the end of your 1-3 yr lease, if you turn it in, do they charge you back for wear on tires or new tires. Also, do they hav a limit on how many miles you run without having a penalty. Thx

If the tires are below a certain limit they charge you per 32nd of an inch. I can't remember what that limit is. The truck I leased had new tires on it when I got it, I put roughly 100k on that truck and didn't owe anything for tires when I turned it back in. They do have a mileage limit, I want to say its something like over 130k or 140k and they will adjust your payment to compensate for the "faster" depreciation of the truck due to the higher miles.

    jn1427 Thanks this.
