Is RV transporting working in the drive away division a good idea in 2014? I'm single no kids, no wife, no mortgage.
    Thanks

Depends who you talk to. It can be decent $$$ but more than likely, you'll just tread water. Are you talking about hauling trailers or driving Class" a" etc RV's ?

Be a decent gig to see the country if that's your goal.

    Making money.... No.

I'd keep it as an option to supplement social security when you are old xD

Personally, I wouldn't do it. Most of those guys and gals are making their expenses, and maybe a little more. Not much margin there.

If I were to haul RV's, I would get a larger truck that you can pull one trailer on, and pull another trailer. Even then, rates are only $1.50-$2.00 a mile. One way. But with that setup, you have a better chance at a backhaul VS just having the 1 ton dually.

I noticed last week, tons of new travel trailers being hauled out to CA and AZ, but most of them will be hard-pressed to make any money once they deliver. It's very cyclical, and even when it's "good", the business bosses involved in the transport of new travel trailers assumes you have no vehicle depreciation (note) or need for a real paycheck.

Maybe - own your truck, (no payments),? Will you need it in the future? Leasing on with a Transporter company? Can you pass a drug test? DOT physical? Do you have an additional 2-3 thousand dollars to get started with all of your equipment and seed money? If you have to can you sleep n the back of your truck?
Do you have basic math skills?
If so - your our kind of guy.
