Fedex is work. Not like a OTR or regional trucking company like Schneider is. At Schneider you would be just a driver. At fedex you will work and not just driving.
Welll If your going to fedex freight then welcome to the team. Do the best you can in the class and in the training before and after the class. You will be doing a lot of it. take it all in stride. You will be paid for everything you do, If not on the clock then by piece rate like road drivers do, such as dropping and hooking sets and trailers, Fueling, driving.
Here you have a place you can retire from.

I am a hard working man .i really like to keep busy ..looking forward to joining the family -
Sorry for the delayed reply! I've been out on the road.
It isn't always the case, it depends upon what kind of driver that you are as to how hard you'll work. As a dedicated driver, I'm charged with unloading my trailer at shippers. It isn't hard work, but I know there are harder working people within Schneider. I know Schneider does flatbeds, and I've heard rumor that the bulk guys work their butts off too. -
I have .y cdl permit do y'all train I have drove for six months
-
So did my drug test ,my physical which came out good ..still waiting for my background check since last week .how much time does this really take with fedex does any body know?
-
Be patient. You are one step from being hired. Be ready, they will call you in for a road test and that will be it.
warrior81 Thanks this. -
Background checks in general (depending upon how thorough) can take anywhere from 24 hours, to a week or more. ...I'd imagine that it shouldn't take longer than 4 days? It's not like you're working for the pentagon! -
do you think Schneider to do lease opp with?
-
Background checks will take at least a week to 3 weeks. Mine was 2 weeks or so and I only had 3 jobs in 18 years.
-
After getting hired on you will go to the extra board until you get enough seniority under you. Diont worry you will still be working. You can make more in a 4 day week here than at most companies in a week. City drivers get paid by the hour with overtime after 8 and road is millage . Even as a city driver you still might have to help cover the road.
What are you going for road or city?
