Need Help...Schneider Bulk Tanker Division

So, do you Schneider Bulk drivers think this recent announcement by the company will have much of an impact in lessening the available work for bulk drivers?

No, intermodal has always been separate. I have only pulled one ever and it was empty I was just moving it from New orleans to Houston. If anything it will increase our miles.

 

Which tanker company are you working for now? I am considering working for Schneider out of Jacksonville, Fl. Tankers. Thanks, any info appreciated. Directed at Henley.

 

I totally agree. I hate moving tandems, especially in a truck with a magtech device.

 

see now mine went backward,, when I started I couldn't help but think that they were trying to see how much crap I could eat, lol. I was determined to at least get a year in. i didn't complain, delivered on time, tried to stay out of trouble and it's pretty much turned to gravy. Still get a crapper now and then, but I just do it and usually the next one is sweet. I really don't mind the short milers though, as long as they keep you jammin. Those loads/unloads plus miles can add up if you keep running hard and stay in a nice groove. Plus if I get stuck in that Chicago-Pitts-NJ-etc loop I can stop by my house for a quicki.. err ..a quick VISIT now and then.

I haven't been around long enough to see patterns, but fall seems to be slow and the time where everyone complains about miles.

 

I'm supposed to start orientation for Bulk in January. Has anyone worked out of Charleston, SC? Is the $800-$900 weekly take home real?

Depends on where you live. Maybe neither.

 

I'm in the same boat as you. Same city. I'm having a huge battle raging in my head as to what I want to do. I keep hearing how tanks make so much more money but I'm having a hard time comprehending it for some reason.
