Yes, I'm in Virginia, I've seen a few on I-81 near Roanoke, and they have ads for positions in Roanoke.

Yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean there are flatbed drivers based in Roanoke. If there are, I've never seen them, and I spent the night on the Roanoke yard twice in the last week.

Thanks, I've seen way more of the dryvan's than the flatbed's in my travels back and forth to truck driving school.

From what I understand their drop pay, tarp pay, etc. is competitive with anybody and I think starting mileage pay is slightly more than van. I've never seen them hauling junk freight.

looking into applying for a shuttle driver job out of Louisville , KY. Any info on pay etc would be appreciated. I have a clean record , plenty of experience ,XT endorsement. If one does get hired on as a shuttle driver, are they the type of company that would try and get you to do something else , i.e say work on the dock or go do a regional or otr run.I do have a few tattoos on my arms, can cover up with a full sleeve shirt.

If I am not mistaken, you have to have at least one year of employment before being considered for a shuttle driver. The old "someone has to die" saying pretty much applies to those jobs. Depending on your home terminal, or course.

    MUSTANGGT and jugs Thank this.

What is Averitt's rider policy? Would my 12 year old be able to come out on the road in the summer or is it strictly spouses that they allow?

I like to be able to plug in a 110V mini fridge to keep my food costs down. Do the Averitt trucks support this? I know they may have a 1500W inverter but thats useless with idle restrictions and only a four battery system. Maverick's trucks had 6 accessory bats to keep things running. Just don't want to flatbed anymore and their temp division has a 2 -3 week out minimum.
