Watching my Seahawks winning against the Eagles at the Ontario TA. Great game.

    North Chicago TA.

I picked up my load a few miles away at around 1600 and headed here.
Delivery is 480 miles away in OH at 1800 tomorrow so I have plenty of time, and I don't like the truck stops just south of Chicago on my route.

    I miss my Big Boy.
    And, that sounded weird.

    HousTank and Broccelli Thank this.

Nice! I still prefer my Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm. It would be more enjoyable if I ever got to take it to the range more than twice a year.

Laredo Terminal has descended into anarchy here today.

Massive line to get out, trucks coming in that have to be inspected and guys trying to scale. All pretty much in the same spot. Guys trying to leave won't leave a gap so guys scaling can pull off. Everyone trying to cut off the next guy. The line now stretches all the way back to the bobtail section.

Its kinda pathetic...I've seen better behavior and manners in Truck Stops during rush hour.

Curious to know if your load was actually 16K. I have had some off Mac 30 that said was lite and then when got the paperwork was way off. They were using Kilos and not pounds when then entered the weight into the info.

Yeah, seems like the Raiders are finally finding their mojo! Maybe they will start to click enough to be a spoiler this year and be in contention or at least have a shot at a winning season next year. Although, with the Broncos and Chargers in the same division that will be an uphill battle.

I'm surprised how well the Seahawks defense shut down the Eagles, although it was written in the Seattle press that Pete Carroll prepped the defense for Mark Sanchez's tendencies... ;)

I was just disappointed not to be able to witness another butt fumble.

I'm waiting to pick up my next load, sitting at an Albertson's killing time in Gardena, CA. It took me 2.5 hours to get to Long Beach from Jurupa Valley this morning. Fueled up at the Petro, then headed west on I-10... OOOPS!!! Accidents had that at a crawl. Turned around and went back east to I-15, then south to head west on US-60.

One thing to be said for LA rush hour is you get a lot of practice shifting. I make a game out of it to see how few times I need to apply brakes, just keep puttering a long at a steady pace. Granny low came in handy more than a few times this morning.

My 10:00 am appointment for a live unload was delayed 1 1/2 hours. Very tight "yard" (actually the end of a cul-de-sac with four businesses all competing to park their cars and get their trucks in and out) that required do-se-doh work between trucks to get folks in and out of two docks in the business I delivered to. Their warehouse was so small they had appointment only and had to unload one truck to cross dock load another truck. All in all it went smoothly once I got my go ahead to get in the dock, other than constant pickup trucks getting in my way as they made pick ups at an auto parts dealer next door.

Since the next live load isn't until 16:00 I tried to find a grocery store to park at and replenish some fresh produce. The first option I locked into the GPS turned out to have a very tricky entrance that I missed, then a series of "No trucks over 6000 lbs" signs. So I kept going and eventually found this store. VERY good produce department.

Regarding 49'ers payback.... that's in Century Link field. I'm sure the volume will be cranked up in there. It will be a tough day for the 49'ers to pull one out. I'm thinking the Seattle D may well end up teeing off on Kapernick.

I know what you mean...I got burned bad on a hazmat load off the yard that had a grossly inaccurate weight listed in both kilos and pounds. Both were wrong and the gross was over 81K lbs.

i scaled this load at Laredo before I left to be sure and yes it is 16K lbs. scaling it cost me a lot of wasted time as I got caught up in the big circle jerk trying to get off the scale and go to the end of the line to get out. What a huge PITA.
