You guys don't have time in between loads? I remember me and my trainer sometimes just sat around waiting for a load or appt time. There should be plenty of time for a shower.

Just take a shower during your 30 minute break, trainer will be asleep and won't notice a thing.

I had a falling out with my trainer yesterday, I may have to get another trainer if things don't change. I found out he was released from a 20 year prison stay a couple years ago, and he is not showing me the respect I need. I let it be known that if it does not change I will get another trainer or company but I am not going to put up with some ########. He expects me to stay in the sleeper cab until he tells me to come out. So I drive for ten hours go in the sleeper cab and wait for permission to leave is ######## I am not in prison. This guy has not done one pre trip or post trip inspection since we started. I am on my 4th day and driving ten hours a day and doing a good job, but he yells at me for the smallest things like not closing his cab curtain, this situation is ridiculous. So if he does not change I am going to make something change. Any suggestions on what I should do?

From what I see here, contact your fleet manager. But I'm a student so feel free to wait for a more experienced driver

Contact your Fleet manager. Respectfully demand to be routed to Chattanooga(The main offices are there). You will be given a new Trainer and will help get him removed as a Trainer. He will still work there but obviously he doesn't need to be training. They are cutting crappy trainers left and right lately.

So... you trying to come back a week early or what?. Though I do see some people who have been lingering around from the orientation before me waiting on their trainer. So who knows. Maybe I will be a lost soul like them loitering around in the covenant hotel. Lol

Hey Dom, you are going to team, right? Better get used to other people's habits and changes of mood and personalities and all... and learn how to deal with that... Hey, I wish you very good luck... I heard that this co. is only team operation now... except the dedicated accounts... Hey, if things don't seem to be working out with one partner, don't waste time, request going back to Chatt... or wherever your home terminal is and find another partner right away so you can keep rolling.... if you don't roll, you don't make money... and downtime at terminal looking for a partner is not much fun at all... :biggrin_25512:
One more thing... in this job, never become overconfident... I met a new Cov. driver... he got a partner, they both left Pomona on their very first load, they had to pick up nearby in Chino and bring it back to Pomona... they were all happy, singing along with the radio and all proud they were truck drivers.... at entering the yard, he didn't watch his trailer rear end and hit someone's car parked near the gate... :biggrin_25521: I am not sure what the co. did to him... I know he lost his partner... Be always alert and cautious... take it easy and don't sweat... Be safe...:biggrin_25519:

I see that on the site says but I wanted to hear from an actual driver, what is the pay once you get to your first upgrade to team driving? I'm reading 34 or 42 depending on hazmat and 2 more cents for safety bonus, but Is this something that we have to work up to or what will we actually make once we get activated as a team driver?. Today we did hear that new drivers won't make what long experienced drivers will make but I don't see that or the raises listed or is the sstarting pay lower than what is advertised? Thanks in advance

EDIT: ok so in honor of the title of this post I decided to go back to the begining. It's been a while. So I think I understand. And the new rate of 42 and 44 for safety and hazmat goes to the truck? Or have they changed that and split on how the miles you listed via quallcomm. I don't know if I trust last year's info so I just want a confirmation. We are to go to the terminal tomorrow so if I don't get an answer by then no worries, I'll stop by and ask them
