Thanks, but no thanks. Any group that has to be 'by invitation only' is not where I want to be. I always loved the forum because it was open to EVERYONE, it was never run as a 'clique'. Besides, I love the anonymity of the forum, you don't have to worry about people getting p/o'd at you over every little thing and 'banning' you from the 'clique'. 'Invitation Only' will not 'protect' you if 'the company' wants to find out what is going on either, and then you are leaving yourself wide open for problems.

 

Now that I have found my way back on the board I'll be lurking again.

That Facebook group was not set up to be an "exclusive invite only" group, but rather a place for Stevens drivers to help and support each other. Reality is there are more drivers on Facebook than here.

The problem is that with the anonimity of this forum, noone knows who you are to add you to the group.

For what it is worth, the group morphed into somethimg beyond the original stated intent and includes, DM's CSR's, Recruiters and God knows who else from the office. Personally I chose to leave it because in my opinion it pretty much morphed into a cyber version of the drivers lounge, and I prefer less drama in my life.

 

Funny, I have met in person many of the poster in this and the earlier incarnation. It is not that anonymous... the office figures out who you are very quickly.

I have not asked and will not ask to join the Stevens FB group... as I am now an outsider looking in.

 

I have met a few from here also, but that is because we have taken the initiative to make ourselves known to each other.

I have no idea what your real name is, nor Honey's nor Denali's, so tuere is noway to know who to add to the group. I do know Clegg and Flue and some of the others and they coincidentally are in the group.

Once again it was never anyone's intention to keep you out, but it is hard to know who to add among the millions of Facebook users. That is the purpose of sending Ross the PM, so he has a name to put in there.

Its not really that hard to understand.

 

Just to clarify, any office personnel in the group are former Stevens drivers. We want to keep the group just "Stevens Drivers" either current or former drivers. Thats the reason for the invites as KMAC said. We tried having it open and we were inundated with people joining that had no idea what the group as even about. Thats why its invite only.

And we dont get mad and "ban" people. We are VERY soft in admining the group. The only thing that will for sure get you booted is recruiting current drivers away to your "new" company.

 

Unless you have cleaned house, I know of at least one CSR who I do not believe ever drove who was in the group, so I don't think that is quite accurate.

 

FB is all about drama. I have an account that I started while OTR to keep up with friends and family. I belong to a few groups that I'm interested in and I like a lot of the games that are available. To me, allowing DMs, CSRs, etc on the 'private' FB group kinda defeats the purpose of being able to openly discuss issues.
