Kind of luck of the draw. My buddy's brother bought an 08 Volvo with dpf, and hasn't hit a snag yet. Granted it will probably blow up tomorrow, but some guys just get lucky.

my dad's friend also got his egr taken off his 06 coronado and gets 6.5 mpg running 70. I can't talk more about it because we aren't allowed to about emission delete and I got my thread banned several times already.
icsheeple Thanks this. -
Shhhhh, we've already gone too far...

It is now site policy that we don't allow discussion of those issues anymore on this site. ECM and EGR are off limits.

I have 1,415,000 miles on Volvo 780 2008/volvo D13 mostly original motor : I had issues with injectors and injector cups and replaced cam few month ago at 1.3 mil miles, no inframe yet, still getting 8mpg not burning oil. Not perfect but not bad; the advantages on "08-"10 vs newer :can use newer bosch ultra high injection presure injectors and newer low friction pistons if on inframe is needed and have fuel efficient 2o15 technology in same volvo D13 2008 frame without the DEF expenses and maintenance. The DPF and regeneration didn't give me too much headache, I replaced filter once after 900,000 miles and cleaned it 2- 3 times.icsheeple, russtrucker and daf105paccar Thank this.
