Do they run Elogs? Hows the equipment maintained? Hows the office personnel? Anyone have any recommendations? I will be going to Dallas, if I go through with this.

Enlighten me, all info is appreciated!

    Nah! Mostly KWs.

    Keep mouth shut, brain open.

If you google "Congress," nothing actually happens.

Yes e-logs, equipment well maintained, office has open door policy. You can walk in and see your dispatcher anytime you are in town, no problem. No babysitting if you do your job. Belinda is the operations manager there, she's cool and will work with you so you are as happy as you can be, living in a truck. The terminal itself is an old LTL building. They are building another one in the area, but for now, it's where it is. I saw lots of tractors there on Sunday, so you shouldn't have a problem getting one without having to travel to pick it up. Mostly new FL Cascadias. You will stay at an extended stay hotel very near the terminal. Umm, that's about it. No drama. just orientation.

The four days on, four days off schedule they offer did not work well for me, extremely low miles

Did you expect high miles? I would imagine you cant make much working only half the month.

I like my hometime, but that schedule seems really lax. How could you get more than 1500 miles in 4 days with loading and unloading. Even if you did all drop/hook, the loads would have to line up perfectly to get 1800-2000 miles in 4 days. Unrealistic expectations.

I was on that run for awhile, don't remember ever being out 4 days then off 4, worked out to be 7 10 days out and 4 off, sometimes longer off because it is slip seat and you have to wait for the Truck to get back b4 you can start your 4 out.

They set the expectations, talked mainly about running from Dallas to Kansas City, two trips a week for 2200 miles total; in six weeks, made that trip two times, rest was Dallas/Houston, Dallas/OKC; last week there 810 miles; said my goodbye and moved on. They are nice people, Belinda in particular, just did not deliver on the expectations THEY set.

As professional drivers we know what is realistic. It doesn't matter what THEY say, we know what the real trucking world is and no matter what we are told, we should be able to foresee what will really happen.
