One of the trucks decided to act up again last night, 2011 KW T800 with an ISX. I ran it for a bit, it didn't sound quite right, the clatter was much quieter but there was noticeable valvetrain noise. Driver says it pulls just fine, but the engine light is on (engine and wrench). The truck had runs to do, so it went out after I pulled the codes. I got:
4364-18, SCR efficiency
723-7, Cam/Crank sensor mechanical misalignment.
With the engine still running, is this likely a sensor failure, or can these engines actually jump time? It only has about 130k on it, and for at least the last six months has been getting the oil changed every 10k.
Tomorrow I am planning on popping the cam cover off to see if there's anything visible going on, I know the older engines had cam material issues and rocker issues, but that wouldn't throw codes like this, right?
