Is the fuel surcharge already added into the rate? I've seen some pictures posted around the net by IC's with some loads to pick from and if the F/S was already added into the rate, $1.18mi seems hard to get motivated to even run when you have a new truck payment to make.
When you look at the Choice Board....

You can see the exact fsc under a different screen by clicking the rate details tab.

It lists the line haul rate and the total on the main screen. The milage rate is based on the total including surcharge. Under the load details it'll show the breakdown, line haul, fuel surcharge, any additional stop pay, hand unload pay if it's a dhu, etc

Good to know! Thanks, me and a buddy have been looking into this program for the past month and we'd like to be able to at least avg $1.60/mi. Is there a F/S on all loads?

Every load has a fuel surcharge from what I've seen. It varies I guess based on how bad they want the product (sometimes the f/s will be less then the actual cost, other times it's more). $1.60 is possible, think I might average that on the hub miles but I'll figure that out once I get home tomorrow and my actual mileage numbers are complete. Based on preliminary estimates I'm looking at $1.609/ hub mile for the first 2 weeks on 6500 miles, but don't have the exact mileage calculated out for tomorrow. I also feel like I did make a couple booking mistakes and had to haul a couple cheap loads because of it so I should be able to raise that figure.Last edited: Sep 25, 2014

The "per mile" rate you see includes the FS.. All loads I have seen include FS.
In my opinion, Averaging a $1.60 is do-able depending on where you run! $1.50 is the more likely average and that can be tough at times. That being said.....!!! I averaged $1.75 last week.. Depends on where you are and the market. I have notice a big change in the available higher rate loads in the last year and a half. Seems to be more of them. That's a good thing!BackIsSore Thanks this. -

as a L/O . do anyone thing its a good run from NY to FL??
-
If you're talking about being able to run up and down 95 from NY to FL and back up to NY, over and over on a regular basis, probably not gonna happen. There are good loads going into FL but coming out its crap unless you got lots of patience or get lucky. Usually you gotta take a cheap load up to GA, and then get a good load out of there.
