You are going to honestly sit here and tell me you know what military people go through based on your trucking exp. and talking to your family? BUT, at the same time consistently tell me I have no clue what you go through...because I haven't been a trucker? Do you get how little sense you make?!?!?! I don't pretend to know what you go through, nor have I said that from the onset of this conversation. I have simply repeatedly said that trucking won't cause me to compromise my beliefs and values.

PS-You absolutely have no clue what military personnel go through based on your "conversations with friends and relatives". How do I know? Well, it was a totally different experience than what my friends and relatives told me before I went into the Marine Corps.

Dumb parallel because many people I know are repeatedly forced to go overseas even after having fullfilled their duties. You have the free right to quit. Try quitting in the military....you go to jail, and are dishonorably discharged affecting the rest of your life.

We are trained to protect, serve, and defend our country respectfully.
You are trained to do a job. Just like any other job that has ups and downs. Are you trucking in Mexico by the way? That's the only place I hear where people are getting hi-jacked, robbed, assulted, and shot at on a consistent basis. Does it happen anywhere else besides Mexico? Sure. But not at the extreme you are taking it. Parallel #2 -you lose.

You are not given a weapon to protect your life(at taxpayer's expense). You say that statement "at taxpayer's expense" like it is supposed to be any other way. How would you have it, maybe make each military personnel have to purchase their own weapon? You choose to pack as a "just in case" type of thing. I've been to a whole lot worse neighborhoods without a weapon than the neighborhoods you are delivering to...I guarantee it.

Are you joking with all of these nutso parallels? QUIT if you don't like the conditions that you are "forced" to work under.

My kids do what they are told too! I see the parallel's you are pointing to. :biggrin_25526:

You expect respect, but consistently disrespect others. "Masters in Uniform"? Called officers...but then I don't really expect you to understand.

OH OK! SO THAT'S THE REASON YOU REPORTED ME!

Basically put up with the crap without whining about it.

So cynical and ####y. I have learned alot from alot of your peers already because most of them are hard working and don't believe in taking short cuts in life to get where they are going.
FWIW-The only times I tend to "listen more and speak less" are when someone has something relevent to say.

By the way as far as the "private message" goes:
I took offense in the same way I did when Kellen Winslow compared playing in the NFL to being a soldier. PUUHHHLEASE
It is such a dumb argument that I refuse to even acknowledge it. The only thing I took offense to was you coming in here schooling me about trucking, me using one "offensive" (I guess) word and you reporting it. What a joke!

I have reported nothing to no-one. I am able to speak for myself.

Obviously you are bent out of shape. I believe this conversation can serve no further purpose and so we shall have to "agree to disagree" and leave it at that. I have been polite to you all along wether you realize it or not.

With that in mind I wish you well Coach1. Good day.

By the way why don't you ask the moderator who slapped your wrist why your words were redacted.

I had nothing to do with it.

    Well then I apologize.

I got bent out of shape when you started acting egotistical. I got offended and the discussion led other places when you insulted me by comparing your job to my military service. I agree that we were having a good discussion and you were polite(though very egotistical) up to this point. I agree that the conversation serves no other purpose. Have a nice day.

I didnt mean to start up a 7 page thread, I didnt read everything since my last post but some were saying im not interstate which is false. I've been to Alabama a few times and Georgia at least 20 times and the rest Florida, I have 2 stops in Bainbridge, GA tomorrow and then 1 stop in Tallahassee, FL so interstate rules apply to me to which means 11/14 day at the most. I have been stopped by fdot before and they have checked my logs and have been fined for over hours, back in November 2007 my work sent me to Atlanta, GA which is 6-6.5hrs 1 way...so that day ended up being 14/17 day which was 3 hours over the driving limit so the officer wrote the ticket up for that and I gave the ticket to my boss and that was it. Now my boss is telling me to stay at a hotel/motel if im going to be over hours and use the company credit card, which I will if I need to but then im not a day driver anymore which is what i signed up for to begin with plus they wont be paying me any extra anyways.

When i started there they said I would not be going past tampa, ya that lasted a week, maybe if I do stay at a hotel everytime they sent me out too far and rack up a 100 tab a few times they will stop sending me that far! Remember Im a day driver, I have put 151,000 miles in 18 months i Have worked there!

But anyways im still looking for another job, i had a good local job setup for 16/hr and 13 mile drive to work instead of the 25 i make now. but i had too many points on my license.

You're right it served no purpose unless you understand what is being said. You went to extreme lengths to prove your point except your point is fantasy. You'll never convince me that you haven't, during any employment, somewhere along the line broke the rules and consciously know it's wrong. That's life. We do the best we can to serve ourselves. And I know enough about the military that there's more rule breaking there than any other job in the world. Don't get me wrong because I support the troops but not the idiot that got us in this current mess. My question is how can you get offended by comparing 777's job with the military when you know nothing about his job?

Coach1 and I have had a pleasant pm discussion and there is no animosity between us. We simply have a difference of opinion. He is right I do tend to be egotistical (thus the choice of Avatar) and use my intellect to push others to extremes. Some get me some do not. Now back to my plans for world conquest and domination! HEHEHEHE!
