I posted this in my welcome..... then i noticed this section..
I live in Houston, Tx and am just about to get my permit. I went in last Friday to take my combination test and regulations test. I did fine on the combination test but the regulations test through me for a loop!!!
On that test, the question would pose a scenario then ask if it was Fair, Fail or Bad.... For example, you put on your turn signal 75 before the intersection.... Fair, Fail, or Bad...
Yet, when I talked with them after failing the test, the lady showed me each section in the handbook to study for each test. I am not finding the answers to some of the questions I missed. Am I missing something, or is it possible I took the wrong test? Any help would be appreciated and Thanks.

Good Luck on your tests -
I dont know about TX but never hear of a regulations test here in CT.
Here in CT to get your CDL class B IIRC you need to take general knowledge & air brake tests.
To get your class A besides the above 2 test you would need to take combination test.
All of the above test are on this site to practice on along with the other endorsements.
Dave ----Puppage Thanks this. -
For example, you put on your turn signal 75 before the intersection.... Fair, Fail, or Bad...; as worded, i would use Bad, as in the question is missing a point of view on how to keep clear what the drivers intent is. i.e. some intersections i will drive thru, at other intersections i will make a turn. or, you could of not remembered the question as it was originally written.

Thanks for the info.... That question is one I remember for definite. I have taken every practice test I could find and know the info backwards and forwards that's why it threw me off... I am about to go back to retake the test and I will double check that I am being given the correct test because it was a 100 question tests that seemed to focus on the driving test. Anyway thanks again

It appears you're looking for an answer to at least this basic driving question in CDL material. I think most states stipulate signals be activated for at least 100 feet before maneuvering.

In addition, in case you haven't seen the link, this site has some great resources posted at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/cdl-practice-tests/
Good luck! -
Yep and thank...taken every test I've been able to find and seldomly ever miss any.. I think it's the fail, fair or bad structure that messed with me

I don't remember these questions being on the general knowledge test when I got my CDL. I've always been told that once you activate the turn indicator, to wait at least 3 clicks before attempting the manouver. That probably equates to around 100 feet.

I'm not understand this goofy "fair, fail, bad" system. WTF happened to wording questions where a "right or wrong" answer worked? WTF is the difference between "fail" and "bad"? is this more of that "Common Core education system" crap?
