That is really weird. When I started my first year of OTR flatbed in 2006 I was paid percentage, as are the rest of the drivers at the company I worked for. I got 23% of the linehaul and nothing for deadhead. When I finished my first year I divided my gross pay for the year by my actual odometer miles and came up with $.60 FOR ALL MILES. I would never work for CPM.

maybe you should Sherlock at .50 cpm you would have a nice selection of exp drivers applying just be fair and dont become another pos company we have to many now but we do need good small business in the usa -
Man that's a whole lot of sarcasm and anger......but for 40k a year I guess I'd be mad too. Maximize your earning potential, that's what has been suggested here so it seems as though folks should care about LTL or what ever is paying more than barely above subsidized income. Whether it be LTL or a dog warden.
And for the record I never offered what I made annually, I'm ABSOLUTELY certain you couldn't stand the reality. Enjoy your ride 😃!superflow Thanks this. -
That is a long way from best case. Those were normal runs done daily. Bump those up to oversize or do 3 to 4 local runs that pay $500 a pop in a days time, which also happens every week. Then we are talking best case. I do agree that because of the insurance regulations that new drivers get screwed by the Mega companies and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I have actually been debating about weather or not to add a couple of trucks but I would pay % if I did. Have seen a lot of company drivers be more about the company when getting a percentage rather than bellyaching about the load. I mean he gets the same amount either way. I want us both to make a lick.

Do you know anything about what they offer owner operators? I'm about to make a move and I'm looking for a company that can keep me busy.
