Good to hear it's going good for you.
I just got my HAZMAT letter saying I checked out on the back ground check now I need to take the test and have it added to my newly acquired class A license with my other endorsements, tanker/double & triples.
BTW leave me a good instate job when I move down there in the next year.
Dave ----Leather Helmet Thanks this. -
Lol, as with all of the northerners that I know that move down this way, you are gonna love it. Just went and got fingerprinted today for my hazmat, and was told it takes a month to get back....oh joy....about two more weeks of school left, started my observation time yesterday in truck...liking the school and the new people I am meeting, good luck to you!!!!

For HAZMAT did you do the on line part before you went for the prints? I did and I don't know if it was that or they are just getting it done faster but had my letter back in a few weeks but DMV will not let me take the test till it is in their system from TSA.
At the same time I did prints for TWIC card, did the on line first too, and got every thing in the mail about the same time. Next week I am going for the test as a few jobs I applied for I need it.
2 more weeks.....before you know it, it will be over as it goes all so fast.
Thanks and good luck to you too let us know how it goes.

I had no issues taking all of the tests for permit, hazmat and tanker before I went, guess its different here in NC. My issue is with the goobers that answer the phone when you call for an appointment for enrolling with TSA. They told me that you HAD to have an appointment, so I got one for mid January. Then, I find out they take walk ins at the enrollment location, so that cost me a week or so. Heck, the whole thing only took ten minutes or less, so I wondered what the big deal was. Just shows yet again, that when the gubmint is involved, no one knows what the heck is going on, just make things happen for yourself.
Yep, fingers crossed the particular carrier I am hoping to work for takes me, because of one small blurb on my driving record. Hoping a little initiative looks good to them versus a small bump up three years ago. Heading out in morning to speak in person to that companies recruiter for that division, maybe that will bear fruit, we will see. Thanks man, keep it between the lines headed this way! -
Watch out for Werner Recruiters. I remember their guy that came to our school several years ago. Talked like a used car salesman and had a pornstache! lol

Just remember theres much more trucking out there than the traditional OTR.
Good luck.Leather Helmet Thanks this. -
One reason I wanna go OTR for at least the first year is hopefully get to see your neck of the woods again, I was at Fort Lewis in 83 to 85...Arielit0oo Thanks this.

Nice. Yeah, I really enjoying driving through all parts of WA. It's a relaxing state to drive through. Except when the dreadful i5 traffic starts.Leather Helmet Thanks this.
