Does Volvo have a service life advisory on these? I'm at 821k and have no record of them being changed, so I am assuming they are original. Time to change? or just keep checking for play.

If it aint broke, why #### it up ?

Because prevention is better than cure and everything has a serviceable life. It's just judging when is the right time to swap them out.

I had a '06 Century that had these. One was changed under warranty in the first month, another was changed at about your mileage. And I traded the truck in after that. I even did two years heavy haul (140,000) included in that, so they are pretty reliable.
I thought I read they were rated for a million, so you might want to change them in the near future.TheEnglishMan Thanks this. -
Just spoke with two volvo dealerships that I trust and both say the joints are good for a million miles. if play is discovered during PM inspections obviously change them sooner.

I just meant if there is no play in them and they seem tight still why worry about it ? I'm all for prevention and changing out what should be changed. I was just pointing out if there not showing signs of play and they look to be in relative good condition I would check them at PM's and roll with them. Tho with a 1m service life seems like your ok for another year or so anywho as long as they have not been abused. =)
Be safe out there.
