Just a photo taken with my phone, on I-30, Pilot (3.65$/gal) vs Valero (3.29$/gal) truck stop diesel price,Sulphur Springs Texas; same exit, both accept Comdata and other fuel cards. Huge difference in price; I noticed the large truck stop chains are keeping the price high :(

Wonder if that might be because of the captive audience they have. Many megas have restrictive fueling "only at PFJ " etc. But enjoy a generous discount.

I could not believe my last trucking checks....when I fueled at J I got a .090 cent rebate off the pump price. Made me sick too....all those years, all those gallons.....

Exactly, and all the companies around here pay almost exactly the same. But we get a better fuel discount. Its dumb to lease to a place for the same work and pay more for fuel.

Not a rigged game. It is traditionally accepted accounting practices. In retail and wholesale, you have several methods of pricing for your accounting. Once you pick a way, you cannot change in midstream. Most places use the Last In First Out (LIFO) accounting method. The price of the latest inventory delivery you receive is the price that all of the product is now set at. And when it comes to fuel, the terminal and retail outlet may delay taking on inventory when prices drop, so as to limit exposure of selling their previously high priced fuel at the new lower cost. But the reverse is also true, when prices rise, they take on inventory so that they can then sell everything at the new higher price. It is called business.

Oh, wait! Isn't that what most of us are in? Business? Don't we also work numbers to make a better profit? If not, then why are you in business?

I get some pretty hefty discounts thru the carrier I am with. Picked up fuel today in Iowa with 83 cents OFF the pump price at Walcott. And they keep tabs on when fuel is rising or going down and send out messages to either fuel up if they see prices are going to rise, or hold off a day if prices are set to go down. They also have all fuel stops, including some out of network ones, listed by state on the company website, showing the latest discounts for fuel, updated every 2 hrs. A owner can plan ahead where to get fuel at the lowest cost along their run. Now this is a carrier that looks out after it's truck owners.

I'll pass on this........... Thirty years of hauling fuel oil in the winter, means I've got nothing good to say about the majors....

And 12/3 it was 2.733 in Grand bay. Another big drop. I am in Hammond now. Guess i will top off before I leave.

Seems like the OPEC is flooding the market, trying to make it not worth while to drill our own maybe? Keep it low till we close up shop then raise the prices again. I'm not sure about this just rambling.

2 weeks ago I fueled in OKC at the J. Pump price was $3.29 my price with EFS card was $2.509. The big chains are giving out deep discounts on large volume, and gouging everyone else.
