They might install the mcp...but if they toss a kill switch in there I'd be right with you making heads roll.

I'm only set back. If I stay in the industry it will be only a owner operator somewhere else. They were looking at a way to make that woman in our class pass her hair test, but shut down anyone else. It's about their bottom line. They keep who they want to keep. Always been like that in the industry.

I'm going to take a guess that being now smoke free for a few weeks and having just stopped taking the med that helped achieve that was the one that is prohibited to drive a cmv on. Says quite clearly in the FMCSA med guidelines.

    Congrats on the nonsmoker thing.

It's your truck man, even if they do install something like that... it's your truck, you can always go rip that crap out if you needed to. While I really doubt they would take the time to do this to your truck since you own it, if they did, it would probably just be a wire spliced in between the power from the ignition when the key is in the "start" position to the starter relay. Worst comes to worst ignition in "on" position, drop a big screwdriver across the studs on the solenoid and you're in business.

OK so I didn't look too hard because it's -17* outside and raining (ok its like 33* and maybe a few ice pellets) but anyway... pulled off some parts of my dash and looked around and I see two wires spliced into my ignition wiring that run into the MCP's harness... looks like one for a constant hot and one that is hot when the ignition is on. I poked around with my power probe bumping the starter and found the brown wire in the middle is hot when the ignition is in the "start" position and that wire does not appear to have been messed with in any way.

Here are the two wires spliced in

And the wire the power probe is pointing at is the wire that is hot when the ignition is in the start position
