I was just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a good school in the Eastern portion of Ky or a surrounding state? Any information is greatly appreciated.

Attend one within Kentucky so you don't have to transfer your CDL after graduation.
Make sure the school is at least 160 hrs.
Get all the endorsements while in school.
Start job applications the first day of school; don't wait.

Several drivers posted on here they attended this school. I think Lake Cumberland has other schools in KY also, maybe closer to your home:

Lake Cumberland CDL Training School, Inc.

If you do decide to go to school out of state and transfer back into KY, KY DMC (division of motor carriers ....I guess we gotta be different) will be easier on you (at least they were in my town with me) than your host state likely will be.

My program info packet said I could come into training with a CDL permit from my home state (KY) so that's what I did. I figured that would be one less thing to worry about when I got out to Nebraska. So I trained out there for a while on my KY permit but when it came time to take the written tests for the Class-A that's where I ran into issues.

First I had to become a Nebraska resident to get a Nebraska license - something I hadn't figured on but that was my ignorant mistake. So I had to produce two pieces of mail with my Nebraska address on them. No big deal - I mailed myself a post card and the instructor sent me something from the college.

Then, just before I had got there, Nebraska had initiated a new program called "real ID compliant" that required either a state issued birth certificate or a US passport to prove I was who I said I was. I had brought neither so my daughter had to FedEx my passport to me. Okay, hurdle #2 taken care of.

Then, Nebraska DMV had a rule that they couldn't issue two "documents" (i.e. licenses) on the same day. So they were gonna pull my regular operator's license and my KY permit and issue me a regular NE operator's license ...then issue me a NE permit the next day (provided I passed the general knowledge test all over again). That would've knocked me out of a day of driver training at the school (worst case scenario I could've spent all day on the backing concourse). But a phone call from my instructor to a bigwig down at the DMV got that all ironed out. I took and passed all the written tests for a Class-A and got a temporary (paper) regular operator's license and a temporary (paper) NE permit the same day. Of course all that cost some money too. Hurdle #3 overcome.

I passed the skills test and went down to the DMV again for my Class-A. No issues or hurdles this time. Nebraska issued me a temporary (paper) Class-A (after paying $57.50, of course), and I surrendered my temporary regular operator's and temporary NE permit.

Now ... I get back to KY and go down to the DMC. I explain what I'm trying to do and the nice guy at the desk says, "does your temporary NE Class-A have a picture on it?" Yep. He takes it and does some official stuff with it and hands it back to me and says now go down to the clerk's office and get your KY Class-A. Nice clerk lady warns me - when that NE Class-A comes in, destroy it (Of course it costs me more money to transfer back to KY). A couple days later I check my PO box and I have three pieces of mail from NE DMV: a hard copy NE regular operator's; a hard copy NE permit; and a hard copy NE Class-A. lol

My school instructor said because of ME, he was gonna have to re-write the program info packet. lol

I want to thank everyone for their help. I have decided to do a company sponsored program, but i haven't decided on which company. I would really like to find a company with a driver trainer that lives in the Eastern Kentucky or tri state area. Could any one point me in the direction of how I could find someone? Maybe someone on the forum could PM me if you are. Any information is greatly appreciated.
