That place is open tuesday thru friday (dodge city cb shop) there is another one on I-20 around Talladega/Eastaboga, dont go there he's one of those who instead of a standard peak and tune claims he can get a cobra 29 to put out 30 watts

Did you ever find a cb shop near you?
I deliver to Atmore at least 2 times a week. I could take it to the 299 cb shop for you if you'd like. PM me and shoot you my phone number.

That guy is a hack. He talks a good game, but He uses very "happy" meters and pretty much just takes your money for nothing. After buying a radio from him lets just say I was less than impressed with the results. OTOH the guys at the Dodge City CB shop in Dodge City Alabama (I-65 exit 299) are really helpful and know their stuff. On top of that be sure to stop by anytime you can and enter for their drawing. The give away a really nice radio every 60-90 days. This go around its a Connex 4600.

They have tons of parts and accessories, New radios and a lot of used radios that are very affordable. I was looking around last week and was amazed they had lots of Cobra 19's and 29s for around $50. Granted they are older and some beat up looking but all come operating properly, peaked and tuned.. Not bad if you're on a budget. Plan on picking three up next time I'm through, one to leave on a second station just monitoring, one to go in my pick up and one for the house.

Got my eye on a 60Ft steel tower with guy wires and an antenna rotator and control box. Plan on putting it up at the house this spring hopefully. Should talk nice with a proper antenna and a 500w kicker. Can't decide if I want a directional, or forget about the rotator and just go Omni... We'll see when the time comes.

That's actually modest compared to what some claim, but...30 whatts out of a 29?
