I wouldn't want to know what goes on in your head !!!!!

You'll like a spread (when you get one), just dump that rear axel and pivot that thing in..

You are a brave man taking that nice rig into a J and parking with the general population (steering wheel holders)..

    speed safely.. :toothy10:

I recently worked three weeks with rental trucks, in part to explore possibly buying/leasing new ones and evaluate the trade off with payments/fuel economy. After the first one, our own '04 Century went down hard with engine cancer.

With the exception of the first rental, a practically brand new T680 with 10k miles on it, the other two were doing like yours. Festive display of check engine lights on nearly the entire time, coupled with gutless performance. Bonus was the '11 KW T700 that broke completely down mid trip and was the reason for the third week (shuffling the replacement truck back to it's home and returning with the "repaired" one that broke down). No excuse for late model equipment with 200-300k miles to be that consistently broken or almost broken.

I bought a '99 Century pretty much sight unseen, instead. Even with the usual new truck bugs and long wish list of improvements, it will be a better value.

Seriously, those two "older" rental trucks are the kind of equipment that makes good drivers quit their jobs. Especially the older ones that have known much better.

It was already full so I wasnt to concerned. I only get hesitant when there are spaces left :biggrin_2559:

The guy that crashed had a spread that I could have possibly got after he left , but its now totaled:biggrin_25513:

I do like my trailer , its old and has character. ..:biggrin_25525:
if this old trailer could only tell stories...:biggrin_25524:

Hey man... I have had this same issue several times since when I started in this co. And they all happen here, in FREAKING CA... :biggrin_25510: First time it was the worst of it all... Had all engine lights on and had to spend 3 weeks at a hotel while Frightliner was trying to have it fixed... They changed ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING related to emissions.... it was about $ 4,000.00 job but all under warranty... :biggrin_25519: After that, went back to same Freightliner, with same problem again twice... or so... I guess I am losing the count... :biggrin_2552:
Now it hasn't been happening so often and I guess I am getting a "hold" of how to deal with it when going up and down these crazy mountains here...
Today, only one orange engine light is on.... I have been keeping in 9th gear, high RPMs and trying to avoid temp going over 210F... So far, so good...
Now I am at receiver's dock waiting for them to unload me.... Second time I am here and they are always running late... I will definitely ask for detention...
