Got my ol Pete back together. I cussed myself pretty good for putting compound turbos where they don't belong. That being said now that the manifold is replaced I'm sure I will be back in love lol.

I pulled a van I bought for storage this morning with the big hood Pete. With them tandems all the way forward that's cheating lol

Elkin NC little truckstop. Unload in the am just scoped it out on gmaps looks like going to have to back down a long drive way to what looks like a pole barn but no place to turn around.
Love the dispatch for my next load address was listed as somewhere in Pineville NC going to somewhere in Louisville KY no company names or anything that real helpful.

Parked at the truck rest area on I66 east in Front Royal. Deliver in Easton, PA tomorrow and supposedly picking up a reload back home to Santa Teresa, NM at the same location.

Truck is doing better... :yes2557: Orange engine light went away... I think "he" will be fine once we leave this place...
Ran only 203 miles today, spent 5 hrs at customers and about one extra hr at freaking traffic jam... GOOD GRIEF!! :biggrin_2552:
Traffic in south California TOTALLY SUCKS! :biggrin_25510: Specially during evening rush hr... On I-15 all the way from San Diego to Murrieta... :biggrin_25521: And will have to face that again tomorrow morning as I'll be going back to same customer for a second load...

Customer is soooo close to Mexico... I think that fence is the border...

Everybody there speaks Spanish... not much English... No problem at all for me because they understood my Portuguese/English... And loader last name is the same as mine...

Now I am safely parked at my co. warehouse in Ontario... dropped loaded trailer and hooked to empty. Was going to go straight to shipper in the morning but will have to stop at TA for trailer top light repair.....

Ahhh.. and did I say that I HATE that white fluffy cold stuff? I am glad will not go thru CO... :biggrin_25519:

I do that on about every other reload home. The Carnesville, GA Petro is about an hour and a minor pencil whip from terminal parking. But when I think about getting 7-8 hrs sleep and a shower, versus 5-6 hrs and rush out the door, I park it at Petro and catch up on home time when I get there after the load is complete.

That can create some awkward moments. Spanish and Portuguese are close enough to make it easy, different enough to cause a major malfunction now and then. I know enough of the wrong Spanish from growing up in Arizona, and enough Portuguese to butcher the message completely. Especially forgetting to pronounce "T" as "CH."

Anyway, the best one was one of my business trips to São Paulo. I was there two weeks and the weekend was slow, so decided to find a barber shop for a haircut and beard trim. I think I was asking the cab driver to take me somewhere to get my head cut off. I ended up at a pretty girly salon, which was not what I wanted, but they got it done. They were looking at me like I was crazy, but were nice and it was an upscale place in a little shopping district. I figured out later that he took me there because the more traditional barber shops were in neighborhoods that visiting American businessmen probably should not be visiting.

    Here is our busted wagon.

The side is bowed out a bit and the floor looks buckled in a spot or two , so the trailer is most likely twisted, oh and not to mention . They cut the roof out and all the gates were cut off inside.[IMG]
