OK I got my cdl in 2010 from central refrigerated but got fired when I was otr with the trainer . So my question is can I have another driving job now? I;m going to take a refresher course when I get back to the states and I have a clean driving record and no criminal record. I just don't know if because I didn't pay them back for their "training " if I am able to get a job with another company? is it on my csa or some other record ? I want to work for Schneider but I would hate to come all the way back to the states just to find out I can't work for a trucking company because they fired me because I was following their saftey rules and the trainer was A @#$%%. thanks for any info

I see no reason why you cannot get a job, after you complete your refresher course. Any monies owed to the trucking company for your training back then, may perhaps effect your credit, but a job? No way! CSA score is for driving infractions, not payments of loans.

However, if I were you, I'd order up a DAC report (it is free online) and even though you say your driving record is clean, get a fresh copy of that as well. You DO WANT to see what was said about you from your former employer, and if ANY B.S. is on your DAC, you can rebuttal that, by informing DAC, as they do have a procedure to add comments. Which then, you get another free copy, with your added comment(s).

Good luck, you really have not too many worries.

Why did you wait this long to wanna get back into truck driving? Are you going to go thru the same rodeo with the next trainer?Be honest, whats the real reason you got fired?Don't think it was because you was following their safety rules. When you have a bad trainer you don't continue your training with him,you request a new trainer. This will not go on your CSA but it is on your DAC and until you pay off your schooling no company can hire you you're still under contract.

If a fired driver never got rehired, every truck on the road would be parked and driver-less, except for maybe two trucks that have a dude behind the wheel who's never been fired..

I hear that especially now when drivers can pick and choose. But the op hasn't paid Central for his schooling so that might be a whole nother can of worms.

I seriously doubt you were fired for following their safety rules....

Oh wait, I forgot. Nothing is ever the drivers fault.

Pattyj I followed thier and DOT rules the trainer kept me up for my ten hours had me sit in the front seat and talk and then had a load to the other side of the country. I told her I hadn't slept and was called my training manager no one answered . the trainer got pissed that I called she called a friend in the company from another termanel and he said your out get your bag she's dropping you off at the next gas station. I tried to tell him what is going on he said f##% that don't want to here it . So I got out paid for a hotel and bought a bus ticket back to california. called the company the next day back in fontana told them what happen and they told me that my trainer said I was sleeping on the top rack while she was driving and I was unsafe to to drive???

Why did you wait until it was your turn to drive to decide you were too fatigued?

Flybynight041 it was four years ago I really don't remember . LOL . I think I was just a stupid kid. I learn a hard lesson that day . I thought everything was by the books and I could just do the right thing and The trainer would be ok with it . It was Xmas Eve . I'm glad I'm older now and have more life exp. But everyone I just want to get back into trucking when I get back to America to bring my family to The states and raise my child in America." I live in China with my wife she pregnant " . I work in china it's ok money but to get my family to the states I have to have a good paying job that can take care of my family financially. And I agree with that 100% . I don't want my family in welfare or food stamps as a man , Husband and soon to be father I need to provide for my family. I don't need tax payer and the government taking care of us .
