But this biggest waste of money in trucking is the recruiting department. They lie do anything to get us there and these companies wonder why they have a high turn over rate. Trust integrity is important to me don't promise things you can not commit to I am well off enough to pay my way home.

Then there recruiting department that just plain suck schneider real come to mind. You have to beg to get anyone on the phone.

There not companies that are so good they warrant the need for that behavior.

Recruiters jobs are to get you there... Nothing more, and many are short of scruples. Rule of thumb, if their lips are moving, they're lying.

The recruiting methods of most large companies are questionable at best. It makes it hard for the honest companies because everyone thinks that they are dishonest as well.

This is the one thing that has me baffled after researching this industry for the past year.

Are these companies in business to move freight , or to train drivers and than push them into a fleece deal and than give them limited miles so they fail, and the freight is just there to be part of the scam.

Why not find a person of good character and spend the time and money to train them properly and than put them in a good company truck and treat them like Gold so they stay with you and help you grow.

i just don't get their mentality.

Some are in business to train drivers and moving freight is secondary. They need a constant turn over to have trucks for the incoming new drivers.

The drivers should take some responsibility for the decisions they make and hold themselves accountable.

But where is the money maker? Half the guys that default on their training they will never recoup the fee as the driver is now a bum pan handling.

Same here, I've pondering on getting into trucking for a few years and here I am again back seriously debating it, and every time I start REALLY researching and taking in all of the available info on X,Y, or Z company its just truly eye opening how corrupt and twisted this industry can be. But, I'm still here, and still debating on doing it regardless. Reminds me of the music industry actually, the same type of lies and endless bs that I dealt with in that industry for years.
