Any one know anything about Sysco Cleveland or Lipari Foods?

welcome to foodservice and beverage delivery, thats the way they all are, or will be, eventually. performance pay in an industry where you cant control how your truck is loaded is the easiest way to cut driver pay...

 

You really need to think about LTL. I'm pretty happy at Con_way. All the major holidays paid off, plus the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas eve day. 3 weeks vacation, and pretty good pay and benefits.

 

Sysco is probably one of the best companies out there, but the work, like others said, is very demanding. I hauled Sysco stuff in a container out of Fond du Lac, Wis, and just took it to the railroad in Chicago and dropped it, but it would take them all day to load it, and had a million little boxes, they handle everything. I have a story about Sysco in Cincinnati that I used to deliver to, that may or may not be appropriate here. Anybody that delivered there years ago, might know what I mean. (Hint, driver check in window)

OK, here goes. Forgive me ladies, we men are pigs. Years ago, in the 80's, when you checked in at Sysco Cincinnati, for some reason, the dock was at a lower level than the office. The check-in window was right next to the desk of the secretary who would take your paperwork. She was a very attractive woman, and would usually wear short dresses. If the drawer to her desk was closed, she would swivel her chair towards the check-in window, and HELLO!!!. True story.
