Think I'd go with Schneider or just about anybody over Fedex. They are in the news every day doing something stupid and wreaking havoc on the roads, especially this time of year.

That was a owner operator-contractor aka Fedex Ground. This topic is about fedex freight (company drivers) and Schneider.

Are you already employed by fedex? It is just like any other position, you need to apply and get interviewed. It would depend on how many people apply

i would say it took about a week to get a call from the corporate ,they will ask you some questions and describe the job for you and the pay then will ask if still interested ,and will tell u that the hiring manager will get in contact with you .it took two weeks for the hiring manager to call me for the interview .after that i waited another week .got a call to sign some papers for background check and was sent for a drug screen and DOT physical .again another two weeks of wait got a call to sign one last paper called "driver apprentice application".so i am still waiting .the process is very long .i think it is worth it once you get in .good luck

After you get in and get thru another month or so of training then you will be a part time extra driver for a few weeks then full time status.

Once you finish the program, apply for a full time position when it becomes available

With the shortage of drivers all across America, I would hope to God that you wouldn't starve with part time hours. I would hope if they are having you on part time, that they would keep you right at the max hours they are allowed to have part timers at first, then hire you on full time after a short while. Best of Luck!!!
