how to stay warm when one can't idle?

Back near the start of the thread the OP posts"I am DQ'd from swift and England" yet later he posts "i've never worked for Swift or CRE" then why are you DQ'd ?

Actually I did grow up without air conditioning. Summer jobs worked on a farm near Spokane, bucking bales of hay in the heat and using shade under a tree for our rest breaks. I think that's how folks have managed to survive before the last few decades, and I'll bet your folks lived and thrived before air conditioning somewhere along the line.

You cooled the house by opening windows to catch a breeze and planting a tree for shade or putting in extra insulation. Then there was the concept of cooling off at the swimming hole, but I suppose "modern" folk would be too frightened they might encounter God's creation if they did that today. Better stay safe in air conditioning and play video games.

 

I grew up in south Ga without A/C but at least in the winter we had those propane heaters you could stand in front of had the little brick looking things in them man those were warm I lived 12 years in the marine corp in some of the most miserable conditions known to man but you know what, I a'int doing that no more because I don't have to. want me happy..... keep me comfortable I may not like the work I do but if I am comfortable I can deal with the rest of the bs
