Panhandlers at Truck Stops

Other than drivers, nobody else is supposed to be walking around the parking lot of truckstops, so you are more prone to run over a driver, but if you are really fast, you can sometimes nail a lot lizard, or some shady jerk selling gold chains. (If he has a gold tooth you get 5 extra points!)

 

Hi guys and gals, I am not on the road as a otr driver yet but I have about 2 millionm miles in my service van in new England.....ive driven through some hoity toity parking lots where the people looked at me as if to say the clean up crew doesn't come in till we close.....and on the other hand ive been approached.....from simple pan handlers to prostitutes to the people at driveway entrys with the sign....knowing the first vehicle in line at the red light is gonna have to sit 3 feet from them for at least a while......SO what ive come up with is a win win......I come from a pretty poor bloodline....ive been hungry.....ive been broke.....and there were times I wanted a hand out......Im 50 yrs old and haven't needed a helping hand financially for over 26 years.....and it was never due to drugs when I needed help so I do relate to people in hard times.....SO its easy......if you want to be the Gaurranteed champion winner EVERY TIME.......on your time off.....get to a Costco.....you pay $11 for a box of quaker oats oatmeal bars........for $11 you get I think 50 bars!!! keep em in your truck......when your walkin through these places....and your approached.....you can share your Blessing of food.....without supporting any bodys "HAbit"....and you wont be lying to your fellow man when you say I don't carry any cash but I can share the meal I have.......YOU WIN!!! God Bless America!!!! and especially the drivers!!! Amen

 

that same guy has been doing that for at least five years now, used to have a white Cadillac, always the same story trying to get back to fort bragg before he is awol,loo. hes been arrested several times

 

I will always give a hungry person an apple or banana. If they don't want that, they must not be very hungry.

 

Gave a big bald guy standing at a intersection dressed in a white hospital orderly outfit my lunch, that i didn't need because I got done early. He threw it in the dirt on the side of the road. Waste of a perfectly good bologna sandwich. If he didnt want it should have given it back.

The latest encounter I had was at the Flying J Indianapolis tonight. I was fueling and this young girl approach me ,she probably wasn't over 25. She said she was from Seymour and had no money and was almost out of gas . It was a good show like she was almost crying. I usually just tell these people no
but I told her to wait until I was done. She had a distinctive car in that you don't see them very much anymore. It was a 1980's Chrysler Lebaron or some other K car variation. After I was done fueling I told her to drive to where the gas is and I started walking that way. She drove off towards McDonald's. Maybe ill see her again I sometimes fuel there twice a week.. Its interesting when you remember them and they don't remember you the next time you're there.

 

Google "panhandler caught driving new car" you will find some interesting news articles from around the world. One such instance occurred in my hometown which is small.
