Try another beer company where I work they would probably consider you, once you get into one you can pretty much get into all of them. The Budweiser distributor around here where I live is one of the better distributors to work for, so naturally I don't work there ha-ha!

I worked for coke and a huge food service company... My back still remember those days. I can count with one hand drivers who actually retired from those same positions. If the company is good, drivers target a bulk driver position or supervisor/office job. Great money at food service but the odds are drivers get worn out with the years and get replaced with younger drivers when physical work is required.

I got a job at a ltl freight company and loved it by the way.

I've done the beer distributor gig and also the beverage shuttling deal. I doubt I'd ever want to go back to either one. You're home every night, but you're so #### exhausted when you get home that your hometime sucks. And often your days are so long that you literally have enough time at home to take a shower, eat, watch tv for an hour or two and go to bed. I'd rather drive and not suffer from arthritis and tendinitis for the rest of my life from hopping in and out of the truck 60x a day and physically moving 40,000 lbs of freight up and down stairs, hills, etc.

I used to work for a food service company. Getting a sleeper truck and 48' trailer into some of those restaurant parking lots was a pain. Did that for 3 months before going back otr for 6 months before I had enough experience to haul fuel. Glad I do that after some of the conversations I've had with my friend who works for pepsi and what he goes through

Few nights ago watched a TEAM of non native born in USA drivers Peddle into a 7/11 with that set you described above. Blocked 4 lanes of traffic and barely fit under fuel island canopy. NO F*$^&@#$^ Thanks!

No clue who the carrier was, Some flyby night outfit with Hand Written MC numbers

What sucks is, You food and beverage folks bust your Butt for decent wages, This team was probably happy getting ANY paycheck and their broker laughed all the way to the bank. :biggrin_2556:

I don't think Sysco Cleveland ever takes that banner down, LOL. Heard that was the worst Sysco house to work for.
