Daytime, you are a city driver doing a peddle run, pick-up's and deliveries. Nighttime, you are a road driver going from house to house/hub and helping out as necessary. both are different, and as a city driver, doing overnights is one heck of a rough job, i am not good at staying up all night like i used to :)

I'm in the FedEx freight apprentice program right now, I'm in week three of behind the wheel training. I'd be glad to answer any questions from a student's point of view if any prospective drivers would be interested.

Dude, ask a lot of questions from your trainer and management, like why the rash of high profile accidents the last few years that has been washed under the table and never heard from again. Please, question their training. Right now you have the ability to start changing the way we look at them out here on the road. Good luck and safe miles.

How long did it take for the background check to come back? It's been 10 days for me just wondering if that's the norm. Thanks

I think a lot of it depends on how desperate they are for drivers. I want to say after my interview and conditional offer, I was completely processed in about two weeks.
