Myself I have never went accross I 70 in colo because when I started driving in 1984 a guy I knew said for the extra few miles to go I 80 or I 40 you will make it up in time and save alot of shifting. Good luck getting accross there.

I would have planned the southern route around the rocky's, the shortest route is often not the fastest route.
