Well,Bud it goes like this Do You Really want to LIVE or NOT?
Im in the Same Boat as you ive dropped 20 pounds, guess how and guess what
Totally changed the way i look at food,
Food is fuel,and thats it
It took my old lady to show me that i was a Emotional eater
I never noticed it,til then stress is a major factor also
My normal breakfast before the change went like this

Lunch McDonalds,Double Quarter Pounder Meal, large Soda with Extra Refill
After mid day Truckstop, chicken wings, pizza more soda,Snickers candy

Way over 3-4000 calories, i got to the point where my heart would flutter,it literally
scared the HELL out of me
Hit da scale weighed 356,Whaaat 356 now im at 332,next stop 300 all the da way til i hit 230-250 and ill be happy there
MY BROTHER DIED WHILE EATING,he was overweight also,IMAGINE that DYING WHILE EATING,
He just fell out the chair and DIED,my blood brother,ENUFF IS ENUFF
Now my breakfast goes like this

My bp was high, cholesterol,& Gout i think almost every truck driver has Gout
They say it come from eating to much Red Meat, high in Protein

The doc told me he was a lil worried bout my neck size being a lil wide for Sleep Apnea
I said doc,When i come back in 2 years,i wont have that Problem-POINT IS,IM ON THE RIGHT TRACK
Not much, but it is a Good start,i didnt gain all this weight over night,& im not gonna Loose it overnight
Make small goals and Start there 5 pds here 15 pds there
We stop at wal mart every two weeks before i RESET,and we are loosing weight together in the truck on the ROAD,
WHO SAYS YOU CANT LOOSE WEIGHT ON THE ROAD?
When you shutdown try and find a National park,a gym,or if you want go buy a fold up bike and strap it on back of your truck and go take a RIDE on yo reset
Excercise Every chance you get,PARK WAay in the back of the Parking lot and walk to the TA/Petro,Pilots,Flying Js
Its okay to eat out every now and then, but not RELIGIOUSLY!
I even went to walmart and got a mobile bike pedal assembly,so when im at the the shipper or receiver i get in my sleeper
And pedal for 5-10 mins you can also adjust the RESISTANCE if you choose to,also theres RESISTANCE RUBBER BUNGEE CORDS just hook em up in your truck and now you can do some workouts
DONT EXPECT NO ONE TO KEEP YOU ON YOUR TOES AND ON THE RIGHT TRACK!
ITS YOUR JOB,JUST LIKE IT IS MINES

Just look in the mirror, think how fat and ugly you are. That motivated me and I have been working out for 1.5 years and eating healthy. Like others said do coffee, but be careful, since you are out of shape, your heart might not be able to handle all the caffeine.
Dropping soda is not that hard. First cut your intake in half and after 1-2 weeks eliminate it completely. It will be hard for a month, but then is gonna be easy -
I can't imagine how much money you're saving as well! 3 Monster a day at ~$2.00 each over lets say a 300 day working year. That's ~$1,800.00 plus all the fast food you've cut out. Congrats!

Decafinated coffee.
I make a BIG thermos every morning, last the whole day.
Basicly you are drinking hot water with a coffee taste.
Or if you can do it(i can't,really don't like the taste)..............go English and drink thee. -
It takes a lifestyle change to lose the weight and keep it off. I struggled with that idea for a long time. I'd lose 50 lbs and figure I could go back to my bad habits, and before long I had gained more than I lost. I've heard that kind of flictuation is even worse than just being overweight. I had to sit down and literally examine all of my choices to eliminate the bad ones.
Another note that I haven't seen mentioned yet, skipping meals and forcing yourself to go hungry will actually slow your metabolism down and won't help take the weight off. Keep low calorie, healthy snacks to tide you over. Also, total denial of your junk food vices will backfire as well. You'll do good for a week or a month, and then if you're like me you'll have a moment of weakness and have a junk food party. Then it's a lot harder to give it up again. I plan my meals so that I can indulge a little bit, just enough to keep me from obsessing over what I can't have.
Good luck OP. I'm down from a high of 350 lbs. to a healthy weight of 200. That's less than my high school weight when I was working out and playing ball every day.texasbbqbest Thanks this. -
Gotta say I'm surprised at the amount of drivers wanting to take charge of their health, this has been an issue long enough. I wish the staff at TTR would take notice and maybe start by implementing some friendly competitions.
this is something worth doing.texasbbqbest Thanks this. -
, man good luck with that one , I am still struggling with my addiction to it! I'll pray for you!

I just wish the truck stops would put better restaurants in that serve healthy food! And no it's not subway if they even read. Every time they buy out a good mom and pop we loose a good restaurant only to put in fast food.
-
The sodium content of these " healthy meals" are enough to give me a mild stroke at our average restaurant; a salad and a cup of soup are good fuel to work with but not if the soup is running 1,500 mg sodium/cup.
Though I do think Mcdonalds has made strides trying to cater to a healthier market, Wendy's and BK just the same. Salads, chicken wraps and yogurt parfaits...they only help if you eat those instead of the double cheese win bacon, ya know? -
All fast foods chains use the "health" label very easely.
If eating a Big Mac is like jumping off a 100 foot high bridge then i would rate their "healthy" foot as jumping off a 50 foot bridge.
Both will kill you.
Just not in the same way.
