I have read all the other posts here on DashCams, but wanted to ask a few basic questions.
I'm looking for a good dashcam to use in a Tri-Axle dump truck, so it has to be fairly rugged, for one.
Looking to record 11-12 hours a day (I know I can upgrade the card for that).

Want to download selected video footage to my computer to save (or maybe my Android phone, if I get that smart) and share with others.
Good viewing angle & picture quality.
Night vision isn't really an issue for me.
GPS really not an issue. ( I think)
Famous last words....price really isn't a issue, I'll spend a little extra to get what I want.

Been looking at the Cobras CDR 820, 840 & 900. Wheel Witness 1296 HD with a 170 degree view. Black Box G1W and a few others.
Any experience or guidance is appreciated.

I don't really have an answer for you, but I've read several posts from folks happy with the GoPro. I bought the Garmin when it was first released and the price has since dropped. Its picture quality is satisfactory but I find it cumbersome downloading files to my laptop when I want to save something. It captures 4min of video before and after an event. No gps, and the accelerometer is so sensitive in the bouncing truck that it is kept on the least sensitive mode, so in a close call situation I have to have the where-with-all to activate the capture button. It does have sleep mode for the video screen which is nice to reduce the amount of heat generated.

Good luck and have fun hunting. Fill us in once you've bought and tested one.

Should add that the camera is solid and well manufactured compared to some lightweight models I've handled. I think that aspect may be important to you given the truck you drive.

Just upload to Youtube and post link don't think you can uploade videos here.

If you get a Full HD cam you wont want to go below 64gig card.
My 32gig cards last only about 1/2 day before they're filled up.
I got a Powerucc Panorama G for Christmas, happy with it so far.
Only been back for 2 days now lol.

I have my Gopro in a skeleton case and stuck on my dashboard. It's plugged in to the lighter and I have it set on a 1 hour loop. Works great. The good thing about a Gopro is that you can take it home and use it for your other hobbies. Besides, the accessories for it are limitless.

    BASARAB Thanks this.

Thank you. I was considering Gopro, but the option to set it on loop made up my decision, did not know you could do that

I have GoPro also. I have a 64gig disk in it. Does a 14 continuous loop. The GoPro also breaks the video up into 20 minute segments. If something happens while driving just write down the time. When you stop just take the 20 minute segment that matches the time. You can copy just one segment or all of them and it puts them back together again. It also has different angle views. Mine is set to 270 degree view.

    Here's one from my truck
