Brother training on nitro pumper for Baker Hughes/ Haliburton well service out of Red Deer. He's in 50's sayin' nice retirement job for $$$.
Guessing when real world oil prices get balanced again so come $$$. Dunno how others are faring in Alberta, but Ontario is the armpit of Canada unless you work for the government here.

I'd say the slackest gig in well servicing, overall. Prone to seasonality though. Goes quieter through summer.

Ideal for older guys or anyone not wanting a really physical job.

You have to understand the physics and cryogenics aspects of N2 and the job, so it's not one for knuckleheads.

When I used to do N2 I was busier in the summer than in the winter; plant turnarounds, vessel and pipeline purges, pushing pigs, fracs, etc. And yes, 1-1/2" iron and inside the cab was niiiice. Hardest part of the job was staying awake. ;)

True, all the stand alone stuff is far more interesting.

True that... already had many Ontario gas tics but took a few months to get AB standard field training. I am older than him and sayin' I should be there even at 57!

No reason why not. Kids aged 21 last a hitch, maybe a month or two and can't hack it, can't even get out of bed or meet up on time. Old 'uns have a work ethic.

Was in Red Deer back in November visiting brother, seen lot of help wanted bill boarding and tempted but wasn't prepared for the leap from Ontario. Won't make that mistake again. Let OPEC pump dry... lol

Probably at least a year until things settle out.
The US is doing their battle against Russia now. Once it settles out, things should return to normal. Whatever normal is...
I was thinking of joining the Alberta oil patch but now does not seem a good time.
Good luck to all who want the work .
