Parked Here for the Night

New Year's Eve is a HUGE celebration in my country of origin, Brasil.... it's a NATIONAL celebration.... majority of the population dresses in white and go to beaches to celebrate the passage of the year till dawn... Huge stages are set on the beaches and popular bands play almost all night for free... Streets are blocked for the crowds to walk... In Rio de Janeiro, my "hometown" they have a show of fireworks that lasts almost 30 minutes at midnite...



Brazillians are WILD PARTY ANIMALS....




Can't remember when, but there was one time when the Rolling Stones played on Copacabana beach during New Years Eve for FREE... about 2.5 million people gathered to watch the show... for FREE...







Unfortunately I WASN'T there at that time...





There are various religious celebrations on New Year's Eve on the beaches all over the country.... it has to do with some of their African-Brazilian religion... they receive spirits, offer flowers and gifts to their entities.... dance, play... it's quite a HUGE thing...

 

Back here in the USA... it's cold, wet, ugly... and not much going on... other than that big gathering in NYC... till the show is over and cops disperse the crowd...
Oh yeah... drove for 4 hrs today from Prescott, AR to near consignee in TX.... Not much traffic on the road...



Stopped at FJ for fuel and a very needed shower.... and FORGOT to take the shower... I guess the cold and the rain made me forget...

Now parked on a dirt muddy lot at this truck stop about 1 min from consignee... in TX



Will try to be the first one to be unloaded tomorrow morning and then head to next customer about one hr south of here...

Well my 40 plus hour restart is over, and I'll see if I can still drive this old bucket of rust. Heck I haven't driven since last yeAr. I may need a refresher course. While aurora and Brazilian accents are on my mind. It's time to put this puppy on the drive line. Yeeeee hawww
