Wow, that's a lot of coffee! Did you lose weight when you switched?
-
with the coffee just make sure your not loading it up with sugared creamers, it has been proven that caffeine actually helps in a diet but it can hurt other things so just think of moderation with anything you intake. I used to drink multiple thermos of coffee a day too getting my free refills at loves but I started leaving the thermos at home and now I drink 1 to 2 24oz cups of coffee a day max.
walstib Thanks this. -
If you cut soda, dairy and breads from your diet the pounds will melt off. Set your mind to try it for one month. You'll have severe cravings at first but tough it out and it gets easier. Fruit will help you through it. Look into the Paleo diet.
I think the thing with diets is that after the newness of the challenge wears off you need to change it up. After going Paleo for a month try going vegan for a month. Keep the challenge interesting. -
I don't know why what bread gives me the greatest cravings of anything else. Pasta second.

Good Luck Driver.
The rewards will be worth the struggle. -
No, I didn't need to lose weight to begin with, I was just kicking sugar...

Adam:
Congrats on your decision to change, just in time for the New Year.
I think you can do it!
It's a big motivation when those pounds come off and the numbers on the scale continue going down.
Low(er) carbs, coffee, portion control, sleep, water, calories-in compared to calories-out, trucker oriented fitness, mindset, etc.. lot's of good suggestions so far!
A couple other suggestions:
1) Put your desired weight goal in writing, put is somewhere where you'll see it often.
2) D/L or buy yourself a copy of 'The Biggest Loser' series, I thought they did a 'Truck drivers' series, just checked online for you, but couldn't find it...no matter, lots of good info on nutrition and exercise on those shows, even if they run blatant adverts.
3) >Move: Brisk walks or jogs: Daily< Measure results in writing, and compete against yourself! Start small 5mins day1, 6mins day 2.....gradual and steady gets it done. There's 24 hours in a day, and where there's a will there's a way. Issues with the elements?...short of the really serious type weather, dress for the occasion and get out there! e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y.
4) Important: At the end of your exercise, reward yourself with something you enjoy, a movie, or calling a friend...etc.
Interestingly enough, it's not the fit people I respect the most in the gym, it's the guys I see in there that are overweight, not chatting it up, serious about their weight loss goals. -
you do not have to be out in the elements to get some working out done, you can find ways inside your truck. When im more motivated I do push ups putting my feet on the bed and head at the stick, sit ups and crunches can be done anywhere, your truck has a radio so put on some music and dance around the sleeper some. I also have free weights in my truck for when I feel like that too. Also when stopping for fuel etc dont park at the closest pump, park at the furthest and walk your happy butt inside, same when parking for the night, park at the back of the lot, pull over and walk around your truck a couple times once in awhile, all this stuff adds up.

I have the ultimate solution.
LONG TIME AGO!!
I knew Miss New Hampshire. Didn't date her. She was a friend of my wife. She had a plate of 3 shrimp on the windowsill so the sun got to it. She would replace the shrimp every 3 days but keep the other plate there for another day before throwing it out.
If she got a modeling gig there was at least a weeks notice. She would eat the old shrimp and get a lower form of food poisoning. Not sure what it's called but not semolina. She would drop 5 to 10 pounds in no time.
