Stryker: You got some companies that go way over DOT Regs. You got some DOT guys that go way over DOT Regs, you got some of both that couldn't give a flying flitter about either. Some of both would fry me for my rubbing alcohol I use to clean window glass (I'm a smoker - it works best on the film) and the ton of small cuts I get cause the wind blew a door shut on me or whatever. You got some of both that wouldn't blink at the case of Jack Daniels on my back bunk cause it's in my back bunk and I have a receipt that says I paid my tax on it. I actually don't but you get the point.

Me? I play whatever game I need to play the way the company I'm signing on with wants it played. Til I'm in my own truck, on my own and got a good feel about things.

Then I eat my deodorant, and use the Jack Black as mouthwash.

Sorry. Couldn't leeet iit passs. That was just too funny. Laughing soo hard now. Thanks and danged ya Cranky.

OP, You'll be fine. Stop stressing. Don't drink on the job or before or after the job; leave any drinking to home time and you'll be just fine. The tests now are so sophisticated they can tell the difference between hygiene product absorption and knocking back a six pack when they said it was verboten. If they even test. You got this. Just go by their rules. I promise: this ain't their first rodeo with this.

I say that if the products don't have such names as Jim Beam, Paul Masson, Grey Goose, or Schlitz, you're good to go. The alcohol in any mouthwash generally doesn't last long. I would not recommend using mouthwash during your orientation days however, as you may be taken from the motel to the drug/alcohol screening at any time, and especially in the early morning if someone rats out you guys that were having a party in the room the night before. Wait till you're on the road, and you wake up from your sleep, and you got dog breath, and your trainer threatens to choke you to death because you sicken him with that very same dog breath. You can always buy alcohol free mouthwash as well.

My former g/f used to make the most fantastic rum cake. I would eat it and hope to get drunk. Never happened, so I had to try, try, try! I made sure I never took any of it while on the road either, lest the DOT guys help themselves!

Speaking for myself, I steer clear of any product with any form of alcohol, the results on a random are 00.00.. while limited, I define alcohol as any word ending in "ol".. sounds like you're involved in rehab

Personal Case Study: after holding & swishing a mouthwash inside my mouth for about :30min. (Listerine, possessing alcohol) Then driving to the Doctors Office for a Breathalyzer Test, about :40 minutes pass by from spitting out the mouthwash to taking the Test: No alcohol registered.

Chaps, your words are abridged...How was the Mouthwash used with relationship to the Breathalyzer Test.
