I have a 2007 sterling with the mercedees mbe4000 engine. I just retrieved 3 dpf codes that were causing engine lights to come on a week ago but cleared up since.
    1.dpf outlet temp signal spike
    2. dpf outlet temp high
    3. dpf outlet temp very high
Unfortunatly the new pro link (purchased through snap-on) did not give me the normal mid code numbers just the code description. I am wondering why the outlet temps would be high is it a sign the dpf is getting plugged? I am also wondering if a faulty sensor or wiring issue can cause these codes. Any info or help in were to start diagnosing is appreciated.

it is time to use solvent to flush DPF.....

I hate removing dpf, really... but.....

Thanks pablo-UA just curious I have never heard of flushing the dpf. How would I go about flushing the dpf and what solvent would you use. We have sent the dpf filters in our volvos out to get cleaned is this basically the same thing? I am going to assume the high outlet temps are a result of the dpf starting to plug up.

You can get high DPF temp if you are burning something extra, like oil, coolant, unburned fuel. I'd start by pilling the pipe behind turbo and see if its wet at all

you most likely have a wiring issue going from your mcm to your dpf outlet temp sensor, or a sensor issue (because of your signal spike code)

Not sure, becouse wires for exaust sensors are very good, and sensors are supplied with wires

Thanks for all replies. I inspected the wires and plugs at the dpf and they look fine. Did not check wires from dpf to mcm yet. The code has not come back yet but it could also not have regen yet either. I am leaning more toward sensor for the reason Chip S stated the voltage spike code and all codes relate to the outlet temp. If code returns I will do more inspecting.
