i hope 2015 is the year i finally get to drive i been wanting to do this for a long time but being young no one hires i just turned 21 so a few places would hire me. i got my cdl permit with air brakes, combination, and doubles/triples endorsements. already got my medical card and registered it today as well. i know many companies will want you to go through their dot physical but in case they didnt i already have it and ready to go. i plan to go to a cdl sponsored program.

Good choice going with someone close to your home. That way when you get that time in you can just quit, turn your truck in, hop in your car and go home.
That is why I went with that crap company Werner as my starter which was close to me. Six months hit and I had a temp company ready to take me on so I quit right on my six month. ;)

Thats a pretty good point. I plan to tough it out at least a year but in case something comes up ill be down the street from home and especially home time just leaving truck at terminal would be easier

Be careful don't drive away your best years of your life. choose a company with more home time.

Thank you for the reply didnt see it from that point of view. I'll try to tough it out at least 1 year otr. Either way most of my friends are already have a family and the ones who dont are just drug addicts glad i don't talk to them much anymore. So i doubt I'll miss much in the one year but i know once out there it Will probably seem like i miss alot
