    285 is expected to be closed from Grant, Co. to US 24 until sometime tomorrow, winds to 95 mph, highway has disappeared in spots due to blowing/drifting snow

    Had my first "colder than cold" experience this winter last week with multiple stops in Iowa and Minnesota. I can't wrap my head around it being -2 degrees with the sun out, just doesn't compute.

    Mid 20s in Holbrook, AZ.. Definitely cold, but not "OH ####" cold..

    IMHO, South Park is one of the most MISERABLE places I've ever had the (dis)pleasure of having to spend some time. I can't imagine living in Fairplay, or that area.

    ex-gf's Uncle lived a jog N. of Fairplay in Alma. Many a times he said of it hitting -30 in the winter with wind chill

    Oh I believe it. Alma isn't any better at all. I knew a couple who lived for almost 20 years in Furnace Creek in Death Valley. During their last few years there, they bought a place somewhere near Fairplay for their retirement years. Last I heard of them, they were quite happy there. (I always did think they were a little nuts, though. . .):biggrin_25523:

    it was almost 60 when i left yesterday. this entire area has been warmer then normal. all the snow that was on the ground is about all melted.

    made for a nice windy drive too, instead of snowwy windy drive.
