Just want to say Good Day all and I began Truck Driving School yesterday and am very excited.
It is at our Local Technical College in the evenings 5pm-10pm (after work)
The instructor appears to be pretty nice. The class is diverse (age, ethnicity, goals etc).
Information however seems as if it going to be a bit overwhelming, but I am up for the challenge.

Look around and make note who's there.
You will see *far fewer* at graduation day. The reasons for their departure will boggle the mind.
But you, you stick with it. There are a zillion seemingly impossible hurdles between now and the day you solo out in your own truck.
But if a complete fool like me can succeed, then anyone can. Just keep your eyes on the ball and stick with it. -
When I first started this industry I thought the same thing, there's so much to consume in such a short time before going with my first company.Right now its overwhelming and you're not going to learn everything during school, most your learning will come once you start driving with a company. All school does is teach you the basics to pass.So don't sweat the small stuff you'll get it in due time.

Yes, there will be an overwhelming amount of information for you to soak up. Just be sure you ask for a clarification to something you do not understand. Some of us here can help you, but we cannot see the things that your teachers see.
Once you get along in your training, you will be ever more observant, and will adhere to the job at hand, first the job of learning, then when the time comes, the actual job itself. You should do well. Keep busy, write down notes, ask for help. But also, beware that some students will think they know it all, and if you try to get advice from them, you could be headed for trouble. So best ask your teacher.
Best of luck to you, keep us updated.pattyj Thanks this.
