I drive for BTC and love it. Pay starts at 27% or .48/mile. What other questions do you have?

That's what I do! If you have any other questions, or want a driver's perspective, don't hesitate to ask. We can do it here in the thread, or you can pm me through one of the mods until you get your required post count up if you want some privacy.

Bad company, don't let a Black Shirt coax you into driving. Trailers are old, 6 years plus, and you need to repair them often, trucks are pretty junkie, you don't get home time when you want or need it, dispatch is forced, SAFETY has the King 's Right to destroy and put illegal stuff on your DAC-- blackshirts and trainers get favorites a and you only get scraps. You will be driving through state of emergencies, floods, they do not care.

Oh, and you pay for any equipment you break, and most of the equipment is maintained poorly.

    Giggles, I'm still around [emoji14]

To address the concerns from ShadowReaper,
Yes, the trailers are old. Ain't denying that. However, the shop does the best they can to keep everything maintained. It comes back to the driver letting them know there is a problem so it can get fixed. The shop cannot fix an issue they don't know about (the crystal ball broke a few years back, amd finding a replacement has turned out harder than they thought it would be). As far as getting home, I have personally seen dispatch go completely nuts trying to get drivers home when they needed to be there. Heck, being in the office now like I am, the most stressful days I've had have been trying to get guys home for a family emergency or something. Dispatch doesn't care WHY you need to be home, just the fact you need home is the primary concern, and we bust tail to get you there. No, we cannot deadhead you 1,000 miles just to get you home for the weekend. We are a business, and we do need to watch our expenses or we won't be in business much longer. But that doesn't mean we won't work as hard as we can to put you on your front porch as soon as possible.

Safety DOES NOT put anything illegal on anybody's DAC. If a driver bashes a truck, yes. We will report that. If a driver has a clean record, then that is what we report to DAC.

No, we do not force drivers to operate in conditions they don't feel safe in. If I call dispatch and say "Screw it, the roads are too bad to drive on, I'll dealwith them after the road crews have been out to clean'em off", the response has been along the lines of "Keep us updated so we can move your appointment times". As far as favorites getting the good loads and everyone else getting the scraps, again false. The driver that is available gets the load that is available. The driver who gets emptied in the morning has more load availability than the driver who slept in all morning and didn't get unloaded until midafternoon. That's the truth at any carrier you work for. As far as charging the drivers for damaged equipment, I'll have to check into that. I don't go to Memphis anymore, and I'm not sure what the new policies are on equipment damaged by drivers is.

And my Mack ain't "junkie!" Her name is Lucille, and your gonna hurt her feelings!
