You will not find any regulations like that. You are supposed to log the actual time it takes you to load or unload.

What I usually do, and by the way, we still use paper logs, is that I log 15 minutes on duty, not driving, then I got straight up to off duty. Do not forget, all your hours will count against you on line 4, towards your 14 hours.

It is Company Policy which dictates logging LOADING/UNLOADING times. For instance most companies require that you only log 15 min On Duty for a Live Load/Unload or 30 Min On Duty for Drop/Hook. Now you could decide to log excessive amounts of time BUT ......who's throat are you cutting ?

You're lucky; some companies make you stay on duty the whole time you're at a shipper or receiver. You have a good deal; keep it that way.

i go off duty or sleeper as soon as i hit the dock for a live load/unload. by time i arrive, check in,then hit a dock, it usually takes 15-20 minutes. then when they say its done, i go back on duty to get paperwork,do loaded call, then leave the area. for drop and hooks, i stay onduty the whole time since it takes around 30-45 minutes
