Just an fyi. I just spent a lot of my time looking into this program due to a 6 month experience requirement. This is true BUT, that six needs to be with Schneider to get financed. If not with them they require one full year experience to get a lease. Since I don't own a truck I'm not eligible for another 5 months. Bummer. Hope this saves someone the time I wasted.

lol calm your nipples don't jump ahead of yourself so fast.
You haven't even finished driving through your first winter and you're thinking of leasing a truck, trip planning and booking your own loads already?

Even if somehow you had your own truck, Schneider requires one year experience. It's right on their site.
As a company driver WITH Schneider you can get in after 6 months.

You have to get a really good planner and know the lanes to make it work well.

I wouldn't even think about it until you get a year in with Schneider. The diesel fuel only's are the exception. A lot of good drivers fail at IC.

They only require 6 months to do ic. I just looked at it. But again 1 year to finance. So it might as well be one year.

So if you don't get a good planner you're screwed? I'm not going to have a chance to learn the shopping lanes. Right now I'm intermodal, so Chicago and back daily(usually). I've done some regional but....

I would suggest drive OTR for minimum 1 year, save your money, develop a business plan, and when you are really ready/prepared then buy a truck independently of the company you are going to contract with. Company Lease Purchase Programs are like owing the company store, they have all the control and you have increased headache. I like Schneider's IC Choice program, but I am purchasing my truck independently with no financial commitment to SNI other than base plates and permits.
