Moose, good to see you're still around. I'm starting to think of changing things up myself. My lease will be up this year a.nd I'd like to get home more. I've spoken to Roadrunner and they look good, but not as good as they once did. Running for them used to be much like running your own authority with some terminal freight thrown in. I really like the idea of running my own authority eventually. Now, they've set things up so that you're pretty locked in to terminal freight.
Any of you other old timers still lurking out there?

I'm working with Ryder now. I'm on the dock almost as much as driving, but I'm paid hourly so it's not too bad. I make about 3-4 picks or drops a day (I'm the lumper) work m-f and am home every night. You should check them out.

Lady K Thanks this.

This year I'm on track to make $52000, but I also don't have the costs of living out of the truck. The food is better as well.
Lady K and Arkansas Frost Thank this. -
Rakusa, sorry to see your post, because there's only one reason you would ask. I hope you are leaving for something better.
PSUMoose is right on target with his post. Make sure that you leave under good terms and turn your truck in all cleaned out with two load locks. Remember that they are holding back some of your money for that stuff.
I don't want to get your hopes up because I know things have changed, but my DM found a truck going from WVC through Colorado, so I got to hitch a ride with that driver.
Funny thing... about two months after leaving, I got a check for $ 48 from Central. The ledger said that it was for a pallet reimbursement they hadn't paid me for.rakusa Thanks this. -

I hope I'm leaving for something better and will post if/when I get it, thanks -
Lady K did you two consider Landstar? If so you thought not. I'm on the fence on authority or Landstar. Reading a thread with a lot of disgruntled LS BCO's. Thinking about Landstar stepping stone to authority to learn how to dispatch myself and lanes etc....anyone here know Landstar folk please chime in....
