I am sure things will get better. There is no way they are running everyone so short all the time they wouldn't have any drivers left. I like tankers cause I hate Distribution center attitudes.
I'm baaaaaack!!!!!!!!

It's simple, short runs typically pay the carrier a boatload of money, why....because no one wants to run short....when the carrier pays the driver mileage, they make out...where the driver makes his money on short is on the percentage scale. The shorter runs sometimes allow a driver to get into an area where he can get that "big miles" run too.Dominick253 and Captain Zoom Thank this.

300 miles from Janesville to Milwaukee to Kalamazoo by 1700. Weather permitting.
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Asked twice in an hour for directions to shipper to finally learn we don't have any in the system. This after I was told never go in to a customer without system directions because the addresses are wrong. IS THIS COMPANY RUN BY RHESUS MONKEYS!? On the phone with dispatch after he sends me directions to Milwaukee. I know how to get to Milwaukee; it's what I do once I get there that concerns me. He finally gives me contact info to the customer so I can call for directions. I give the lady what I got from my phone, she confirms it. I'm 50 yards from the facility, stuck at a bridge marked 13'5" waiting for the police to come back me out across a busy intersection. I take a walk to the shipper to let them know and the lady chooses that moment to tell me I will fit under the bridge, "You should have known because truckers be driving under that bridge all day." More later. I may have had enough of this garbage. 300 miles a day.
Dominick253 and double yellow Thank this. -
I worked for jbs hauling beef, kind of the same short milage runs. Couldn't live on a 300 pay check. Told them when I quit. I can be on the road and be broke or at home and be broke. Got the deer in the headlight look. Especially when I said I am terminating jbs as my employer.

Do you still have contact with that big boss. Tell them your giving him a week to prove to you why you should continue your employment. Ball is in their court to put up some good loads or you will exercise the open door policy.
I have always thought you never get a second chance to make a first impression.Last edited: Jan 9, 2015

Let us know how that works out for ya. West side of MI is a mess. Lake effect and blowing snow.
Also, 94 is closed about 10 miles east of kzoo due to a huge wreck including a truck that was loaded with fireworks that caught fire. -
That was then. This is now
